24			1858 (15 June) envelope ex the "Mooyaart" correspondence to London, bearing extremely fine 6d. purple-brown (good to large margins showing portion of adjoining stamp at left) and 1857-59 1d. blue and 2d. yellow-green (slightly cut-into), each neatly cancelled by light oval of bars with the 2d. tied by red Paid arrival datestamp (15.7) and showing, on reverse, "galle/steamer letter" c.d.s. 25			1859 (July) envelope from Deltota (manuscript notation on reverse) to Kent, bearing 6d. purple-brown (large margins three sides, just cut-into at top) and 1857 1d. blue pair and single with margins in places, all neatly cancelled by light oval of bars and showing, on reverse, legible "kandy/steamer letter" and red arrival (28.2) datestamps; the envelope a little stained at edges which just affects the stamps, nevertheless an attractive item. 26			1857 (26 June) entire letter from Colombo to Trieste, bearing very fine 6d. purple-brown pair with good to large margins, both centrally cancelled by oval of bars, showing fine "british-packet/paid/postage" circular handstamp alongside, red crayon "1d" and manuscript "9" and, on reverse across join, fine "colombo/steamer-letter" and red arrival (26.7) datestamps. A very neat and attractive franking stated by the owner as the earliest recorded cover bearing this stamp. R.P.S. Certificate (1956) states "Has a number of stains removed". Sc. 2; S.G. 1. 27			1857 (14 Dec.) envelope from Colombo to Pictou, Nova Scotia bearing 6d. purple-brown (small to large margins on three sides, cut-into at top) with 1857 1d. blue (margins on two sides) and 1/- slate-violet (small tear at lower right), each neatly cancelled by oval of bars, showing London Paid transit datestamp (10.1) overstruck by handstruck "1d", both in red, and on reverse "colombo/steamer-letter", Halifax and small part arrival datestamps; the envelope with piece missing at foot and part of reverse. A unique franking to an unusual destination. R.P.S. Certificate (2002) states "1d. creased, lifted and reaffixed".
